1 Un visitante nos comenta Dramaturgo, novelista y traductor, Michael Frayn nació en Londres el 8 de septiembre de 1933. Después de dos años de Servicio Nacional, durante el cuál estudió ruso, estudió filosofía en el Emmanuele College (Cambridge). Trabajó como reportero y columnista en The Guardian y en The Observer, publicando muchas novelas dónde se incluyen The Tin Men (1965), ganadora del Somerset Maugham Award, The Russian Interpreter (1966), por la cual obtuvo el Hawthornden Prize, i Towards the End of the Morning (1967). Novelas más recientes son A Landing on the Sun (1991), ganadora del Sunday Express, Book of the Year and Headlong (1999) y Spies (2002).
Como dramaturgo es autor de las obras: Alphabetical Order (1975), Clouds (1976), Donkeys' Years (1977), Make or Break (1980), Noises Off (1982), Benefactors (1984) i Copenhagen (1998) con la cual, el 1998, gana el Evening Standard Award como mejor obra del año y el premio Tony Award for Best Play en el 2000 en los Estados Unidos. Su última obra es Democracy (2003), que situa en los años 60, en Berlín.
Ha traducido numerosas obras del ruso entre las que destacan obras de Txéjov y de Tolstoi. Sus trabajos en televisión son First and Last (1989), que le mereció un Emmy, y una adaptación de su novela A Landing on the Sun el 1991. También es autor del guión de la película Clockwise (1986).
Michael Frayn está casado con la biógrafa y critica Claire Tomalin.
